eco-friendly manufacturing

approximately 4 million disposable pads and tampons are flushed per day in the UK alone. our  reusable period-proof undies reduce waste by 99.5%, but we can't stop there.

we ensure our undies are manufactured using the most sustainable materials and environmentally responsible processes possible.

ever heard of the beech tree?

we use modal material to make your undies. this magic material is soft, shrink resistant, and easy to care for.

oh, and it's super sustainable.

modal is manufactured from the beech tree, which is a renewable crop and considered carbon neutral when taken from a responsibly managed source. it is biodegradable, meaning at the end of its life, the fabric can return to the earth.

award winning manufacturing process

we source our fibres from Austrian based company Lenzing who manufacture TENCEL™ modal. the fibres are manufactured in an award-winning circular closed-loop process, meaning that chemicals used in processing are captured and reused.

we’re proud to be a part of the textile industry’s way towards the future-oriented concept of circular economy.

circular manufacturing

TENCEL™ modal fibres have gained a reputation for their environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into super-soft fibres with low ecological impact.

this award winning process recycles waste water and reuses chemicals at a recovery rate of more than 99%. you can rest assured that your undies are not having an impact on Mother Earth.

sustainably sourced

TENCEL™ modal is sourced from sustainably managed forests. wood and pulp used is harvested from certified and controlled sources.

these fibres are manufactured from the renewable source of raw material beech wood, sourced from sustainable forests in Austria and neighbouring countries.

biodegradable + compostable

derived from nature, TENCEL™ modal fibres have been certified as biodegradable and compostable under industrial, home, soil and marine conditions, and so they can fully revert back to nature.

carbon neutral

the environmental footprint of TENCEL™ modal is a positive one – it’s carbon-neutral.

because of the closed loop circular process used when capturing and reusing waste and water, TENCEL™ is classed as being carbon neutral, meaning no net carbon emissions are released into the world from the production of this magic material.

20x less water than cotton

modal is sourced from the renewable beech tree, which doesn't require much water to grow. the production process uses about 10-20 times less water.

it takes approximately 20,000 litres to produce 1kg of cotton, and 1,000 litres to produce 1kg of modal. this water is also captured and reused when making TENCEL™ modal, making it truly sustainable.

softer + stronger

TENCEL™ modal is considered super-soft whilst remaining super strong.  the fibres are set apart by their greater strength meaning the material is more durable than cotton and have a long-lasting quality.

compared to cotton, modal fibres are 50% more shrink resistant, 50% more absorbent, and much more breathable, resulting in longer-lasting higher quality products.
